L'Excellence des Muraires 2021

The Château de Muraires lies in the heart of the Var countryside, somewhere between Nice and Aix-en-Provence, at the base of the Maures massif. This “Black Mountain”, formed from dark stone and covered in dense forest, overlooks the gorgeous château and its fabulous terraced vineyards on the southern slopes. The potential here is extraordinary, from the excellent drainage to the southern exposure, and Bernard Magrez is delighted to propose it to connoisseurs everywhere.

In the winery:

-The grapes are temperaturecontrolled, right from the harvest

-Pneumatic press -Low-temperature racking

-Left at low temperatures for a further week to settle

-Thermo-regulated fermentation in concrete tanks at 16-17°C -60% of the volume is vinified and matured in 600 litre almud-style barrels on the lees
